Can we get the ability to change they shortcut keys for Justcode in the Justcode options instead of digging through that VS shortcut window?

Hello Steve,

For now we don't have immediate plans for implementing this into JustCode. However, we will consider once again the priority for that feature as more people request it.

Best wishes,

Hello,

When I installed JustCode I found that ^W^E no longer went to the error list, even though VS (2008) says it is the correct key combination. It did nothing in fact. I've since uninstalled JustCode and it seems to have completely reset my key combinations. ^R used to be bring up the solution, now it's ^-Alt-L, even though VS says it is still ^R.

Also, all the JustCode menus are still showing but greyed. I did quit VS before uninstalling.

How do I fix the keys, the menus I can live with.

Hi Mark,

Does the grayed out menu persist after a restart of VS? Sometimes it'll be there right after you uninstall JustCode and it'll disappear after the first VS restart. Is that the case on your side?

Rather unfortunately, VS won't remember your original key combinations and they won't get restored after you uninstall JustCode. While JustCode is installed it might overlap some existing key combinations. In that case VS will show both as valid but it will execute only the one that occurred latest.

Hello,

The menus are still there, even after a reboot.

Hm, that's a nasty one. There are a couple of things that can be done now to solve that problem. I've listed them below, starting with the least destructive ones.

  • Run 'devenv /Setup' and wait for it to finish.
  • Install JustCode and uninstall it again.
  • Go to Tools->Import and Export Settings -> Reset all settings (that will reset ALL your settings, though).
I am sorry about the trouble caused. Rather unfortunately, there is not much we can do about this problem. We are calling a simple VS API to remove these menus and sometimes (as in your case) it wouldn't do the job and it'll leave us stuck.

It would be great if something could be changed here.
JC (I love it) - overrides a lot keys - and especially for me it does:
CTRL+DOWN + CTRL+UP (scroll leaving cursor in place)
SHIFT+CTRL+UP (UCase)
And most worse:
SHIFT+CTRL+R (record immediate macro - I use this very often)

In all cases JC has alternative combinations (which I use), but with every install it overrides my the default settings.
A persistent "don't touch these key's" setting would be a perfect solution.
Which also means (as mentioned above) that JC has to have some kind of "key binding editor".

But such a feature would allow to (needed only once) remove some bindings - and on the next install
JC doesn't bind the marked keys again.

Even a "hand edited avoid file" would be OK.

Manfred, your suggestion totally makes sense. So, I have created a product backlog item for it and we are going to implement it in the months to come. You should be able to monitor the progress of that task, but I guess you'll know once we stop messing up with your keybindings :)
