Hi,
Can anyone let me know whether the feature of exporting chart to "excel sheet or image or ppt" is available in the telerik rad charts for windows8 metro applications.
Thanks in advance...

Hi Sajida,
Currently, our RadChart for metro does not support export to any of the types mentioned. In addition Metro style architecture does not offer easy (if any) way create image from visual element.
This is a *BIG* problem that affects a myriad of core functional scenarios. This needs to be addressed ASAP.
Thank you.

Hi Brian,
Thank you for contacting us.
I agree with you that this potentially can affect many core scenarios. In other XAML technologies there are built-in means of exporting a drawing to a stream and saving that stream to a file. For example Silverlight has its WriteableBitmap.Render method, while WPF has its RenderTargetBitmap.Render one.
Such method(s) unfortunately do not exist in WinRT/XAML and the only way to have access to the screen content as a byte array is to do the rendering entirely in Direct2D manually. I believe that Microsoft will provide such "Render screen content" routine in the near future. Till then we literally have no way to enable such functionality (unless we go with the Direct2D rendering routine, which means that we have to implement our own XAML stack).
I hope this information is useful. Do not hesitate to write us back should you have any other question/problem with our tools.
