Hi!

Trying to understand
What is the difference between develop an app with Cordova Hybrid and develop with NativeScript.
What are the implications, both in terms of the development process itself, and in terms of application capabilities.

Thank you!

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us with your questions.

Perhaps the biggest difference between hybrid and NativeScript applications is the way the app UI is rendered. Cordova hybrid apps are using the browser's layout and rendering engine to display the UI of the application. NativeScript, on the other hand, is using the native platform default rendering and layout engine to display the UI of the application. This means that the applications using NativeScript framework are providing the same UX as natively written applications. You can find a detailed comparison between both approaches in the Hybrid or NativeScript—Choosing the Path for You tutorial.

If you decide to go with a hybrid approach, please head over to the Developing Your Hybrid Mobile App in Telerik Platform section in our documentation. Instead, if you'll be using NativeScript, make sure to check Developing NativeScript Mobile Apps in Telerik Platform , the NativeScript documentation available here and browse through those questions.

Don't hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions.
