Telerik Assembly Minifier is a tool that lets you extract only the controls’ classes and resources you need to use in your application development, thus significantly reducing the size of the assemblies. Using the Assembly Minifier you will achieve significantly better loading time when the XAP files containing the minified (optimized) assemblies are to be loaded on the client side.

Hi Laurent Duveau,

Thank you for your feedback and cooperation! We are looking forward enabling tight integration with Visual Studio as it seems that this will be the easier way for the users for benefit from this tool.

I'm glad you are working on VS integration.  That is probably the only way people will use it.  Even if the problems people are experiencing now are resolved, it is still too much trouble to use.

Ideally, one would like the tool to examine your xaml and only incorporate needed binaries into the build.  That would be a killer feature!

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the great feedback. We will be working on integrating Assembly Minifier with Visual Studio during Q1 2011.

Did Minifier ever make it's way to VS? If so, how is it used?

Hello Richard,

Unfortunately, this feature request is currently not implemented. We know that we said we will work on this during Q1 2011 but we did not succeed due to more pressing tasks we had been working on. We'll have more detailed vision for the future of this control (and its features) after the Q3 2011 official release.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Greetings,
