Hi there:

Currently using Telerik richtext edit (RadEditor) and upgrade .net web application to support IE8.
We have disabled html paste function on the RadEditor, only allow paste as plain text.
However when user use IE8 browser paste button on the browser menu, it still paste as html format.
The issue doesn't happen on IE6.

Thanks

Hi,

I tested the reported scenario in the following demo: Cleaning Word Formatting but I was unable to reproduce the problem in that browser. Here is a video demonstrating my test: http://screencast.com/t/uGAn3OTUX5.

You should ensure that the Security Option of IE8: Allow Programmatic Clipboard Access is enabled or set to prompt. If it is disabled, it is not possible to get the pasted content and modify it.

Hi there:

Thanks for the quick response.
I think you may misunderstand my question.
We remove paste as html format button on our richtext box and only leave paste as text button there.
I try only allow user paste as text in the richtext box.
It works well when user use short cut (Ctrl-V) and paste text button on richtext box.
However when user use paste button in IE8 browser (picture attached),it still paste as HTML format.
We do not want to have any HTML format content paste to our richtext box.
The problem is not happening on IE6.

Thanks

Jim

Hi,

You should also set the StripFormattingOptions property to All. This will fix the problem. See this article for more information: Cleaning Word Formatting.
