Hi,

We recently upgraded our app to silverlight 5, and telerik tools and reporting Q3 2012.  We've noticed a change in printing behaviour with the silverlight report viewer running in native printing mode.

Previously you had to select the orientation every time via the print dialog if you wanted to deviate from the printers default orientation, regardless of the setting on the report.  I understand the reasons for that.

Now, if you print a portrait report to a portrait printer, it prints fine.  However, if you print a landscape report to the printer, without changing orientation to landscape on the printer, it prints in landscape but shunts the entire report to the right by about half a centimetre or thereabouts, potentially causing the very right hand side of the report to be lost.  It does the same thing if you print a portrait report to a printer in landscape orientaion (that is to say it prints in portrait but shunts the report to the right).

Is page orientation meant to work in SL5 with telerik reporting and the report viewer?  Is there a setting we've got wrong somewhere?

If this isn't behaviour you've come across I'll need to scan a print to upload as it obviously only happens to an actual printed page.

Hello,

You have correctly noticed the change. We have tried to improve the printing behavior so that the user does not have to manually switch the default page orientation of the printer. This comes with some custom logic and apparently you have hit a glitch it it (we confirm the problem). The issue will be logged and fixed in a subsequent version of the product. Meanwhile if you manually set the correct page orientation the report should be printed as expected.

We are sorry for the inconvenience. Your Telerik points have been updated for letting us know about this problem.

All the best,

Hi,

I was wondering if you could give some indication as to what version this is likely to be fixed in?  Will it simply be a later quarterly release, or wrapped up with some other fixes in a hotfix release of some kind?  It's obviously relatively minor, but some indication as to likely timescale is always handy to pass back to our users.

Thanks,

Colin.

Hi,

I was wondering if there was any news on the service pack release with this fix in it.  We're currently finalising the next major release of our product and it would be nice if we could test and include this in it if possible.

Thanks,

Colin.

Hi,

This issue has not been fixed yet. Please, check the release notes when we release the service pack to see whether we have managed to address it. The service pack will be released either this week if we don't find any glitches or after two weeks due to the national holidays in Bulgaria.

Greetings,
