When grouping by a resource, the layout gets really screwy if one of the resources has more events than the other (in horizontal view). So if the grouping has one resource that looks like the attached pic (where the height of the <tr> surrounding the resource row is set to a height large enough to accomodate the items) then ALL resources are now set to that height regardless of whether they have any events. So if the one resource has a height of 500px then ALL of the rows will be 500px.

Hello,

Apologies for the delayed reply.

If I am right you are using allDayEventTemplate with HTML tags in it? Please keep in mind that using HTML in the allDayEventTemplate is currently not supported by Kendo UI Scheduller. In case I am missing something please send an isolated runnable example which demonstrates the issue and which I can test locally - this way I would be able to advice you further and provide concrete recommendations.

We have tried with and without HTML tags in the event items and have tried with and without a template. What occurs is the AllDay row gets a rowheight from the tallest one from the group collection. If one row contains 10 allday events in it, then every group will have the same row height regardless if they have any allday events in their collection.

That shows the behaviour. If you look at the Meeting Room groups, it makes the AllDay section of the first meeting the same height as the second meeting room even though there are no events in that block.

Hello,

Thank you very much for the provided details and runnable example. This is the default behaviour of Kendo UI Scheduler and there is no a suitable workaround which I can suggest in order to set different heights to the AllDay rows. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.

Is there going to be a plan to change this? As it stands this makes the entire scheduler look ridiculous with the stretched empty spaces. If we build a scheduler that is designed to have the events dragged/dropped from an allday to an appointment time then we end up with massive amounts of empty space that needs to be scrolled through. Almost every method we have looked at will be hampered by this problem.

Hello,

As currently the required behavior is not in our queue for current release I would suggest to share your idea at Kendo UI UserVoice to allow other users vote for it. Most voted ideas are included in next Kendo UI releases.
