I can't figure out how to use the Visual Studio Design View on the Scheduler Templates.

For example, on Gridview I can convert columns to templates and then view and edit these templates in the designer.

How do I do this for the different Templates for the Scheduler (e.g. AdvancedInsertTemplate and AdvancedEditTemplate) ?

Hi Scott,
In Visual Studio, working with Telerik's RadScheduler and its templates, like AdvancedInsertTemplate and AdvancedEditTemplate, is different from working with simpler control templates like those in a GridView. While GridView allows you to easily convert columns to templates and edit them through the designer, RadScheduler requires a more manual approach since its templates are often more complex and can involve more sophisticated data handling and user interactions.

You can find information about the RadScheduler templates in the following resources:

Does that mean that the Visual Studio Designer cannot be used?

I have taken a look at those links.  I don't believe any of them say how to use the designer nor do they say that the designer cannot be used.
My assumption is that with Web Forms one can use the designer for all visual related tasks.

Hi Scott,

Thank you for your inquiry about using Visual Studio's Design View with RadScheduler templates. Unfortunately, Visual Studio does not offer direct support for editing complex templates such as AdvancedInsertTemplate and AdvancedEditTemplate within the Design View. This is primarily due to the sophisticated structure of Telerik controls, which often require detailed customization beyond what the Design View can render.

For complex controls like RadScheduler, manual adjustments in the Code View are necessary to achieve the desired level of customization. While this approach does not provide the visual drag-and-drop simplicity found with simpler controls, it allows for a greater degree of flexibility and precision in configuring the scheduler's functionality.

It's important to note that this is not an oversight but a deliberate design choice. The intricate nature of templates and hierarchical structures within RadScheduler means that a design-time interface capable of accurately rendering these elements would be extremely challenging to implement without sacrificing functionality.

We understand this might not be the ideal workflow you were hoping for. However, we assure you that working within the Code View offers the opportunity to fully exploit the capabilities of the RadScheduler.
