I´ve seen more threads about this topic but I just want to be sure.
Is there no "legal" posibility of using google maps with telerik controls?
I mean, if I want devolope a google maps provider of tiles with telerik controls,
but as i´ve read it is forbidden by GoogleMaps license.
Am I rigth?

Hi Esther,
Developing a Google maps provider of tiles with telerik controls is illegal according to the Google terms of use (http://code.google.com/intl/ru/apis/maps/terms.html). Google Maps API allows including Google Maps into your web-pages using JavaScript. The Google terms (see section 10.1) prohibit access or use the Service or any Content through any technology or means other than those provided in the Service, or through other explicitly authorized means Google may designate. So, it looks like using of the Google Maps from Silverlight application directly is prohibited.

Are you aware of any changes? My company is ready to pay license fee to Google to use their map API with Telerik control.
The application we are writing is WPF application and we are using WPF version of Telerik control. So, could you please clarify coule things.
1. 10.1.1 (h) does not apply since this is not a web based application, correct?
2. 10.1.1 (g) can be resolved if we obtain written permission from Google?
Is there anything else to prevent us from using Google map API with your control? And, if we are able to obtain written permission, do you have map provider for Google API to be used with WPF Telerik map control?

Hi,
Technically you can use RadMap with Google cartography. Even if we will not ship a built-in provider, we can provide the code needed in support communication.
We are willing to cover all technical aspects and provide assistance to get your project rolling. However, you will need to obtain permission/negotiate your use of google APIs and cartography. As far as I know their policies have not changed on this matter.

Hi - is there any movement on this thread - I need to use Google maps as a tile provider within Telerik Map control inside a WinRT App.

As for the RadMap for WPF / Silverlight - there is no update here. Technically, you can use custom google provider, but you need to obtain permissions to do so and use it in your applications.
For the Map in Win8 XAML - you have discussed this question in 908105 and we logged this request.
