Hi, I have noticed that the control is just not "printer friendly"... as it uses CSS Background images to render selection and stars, by default browsers will not print the rating control at all (because of "print background color and images" setting in most browsers being disabled by default), this can confuse users a lot!.

So far we added a CSS conditional view for the control, based just in a label followed by the rating value... but it will be great to have it better support printing in next versions!. Or if you know how I can workaround this it will be great.

Thanks!

Hi Michael,
Thank you for your feedback. I will add your feature request to our ToDo list and we will do our best to improve the rating control in this respect.

I updated your Telerik points for the feature request.

All the best,

Hi Sai,

There is still no progress on the printing feature for the RadRating, as this request is with medium priority due to low interest and our attention has been occupied by more urgent improvements on the RadControls. As you can check here, there aren't any votes for the discussed feature request.

Nevertheless, this suggestion has been escalated and a solution for printing a RadRating will be investigated by our developers, although I cannot provide a firm estimate when the feature will be available. You can track its progress via the link, provided above.

Hi I have just voted for this fix. I am using the control extensively for a school report system and quick screen dumps are impossible as half of the data does not print.

Thanks

Hi Chris,

I am afraid that this feature is not yet scheduled for implementation so I cannot provide any information when it will be available.

For the time being you can advice that the browser setting Print background colors and images should be set to true in order to display the background images of the RadRating control.

Hi Slav,
many thanks for your reply, I am aware of how to get them printed, it is just a pain to have to grovel to the IT dept. to get them to implement a group policy or to push registry settings for a number of browsers to force them to default to printing all background images and colours even when not appropriate to get over this limitation in the control. I am sure there are a number of people in my situation and it just adds an a layer of pain to a great control.

Thanks

Chris

Hello Chris,

Indeed, it is quite inconvenient that it is not possible to print the background of the RadRotator's items. We are taking in account the interest in this scenario, however adding print support would require major changes in the rendering of the control. This is why I am unable to provide an estimate when there will be progress on the matter.

Please accept our apologies for the caused inconvenience!

Kind regards,
Slav
