Hi
I'm now in R&D to new project base on silverlight 3 nd wonder what will be the relation between Telerik Navigation Framework and the built-in Navigation Framework in Silverlight 3?
What benefits are in Telerik's framework?
Thanks
Adiel

Hi Adiel,

Thanks for writing to us and your question.

Our plans are to extend the navigation framework in terms of animations and overall behavior. As we started other major initiatives for the next major release (Q2) we will most probably start working on the Page Navigation's enhancements in Q3.

Hello Adiel,

We are going to extend our own navigation framework. However, it will be first updated and built on top of the default one.

Best wishes,

Adiel, I'm not sure what you mean by vice versa? Do you mean starting with Telerik and then shifting to Microsoft version?

Hello ..Ben,

When the new Telerik Page Navigation framework is ready (as of Q3'09) I believe you will be able to upgrade from the default (MS) navigation to the Telerik's one.

All the best,

Hi Nick;

That was my understanding from your previous post (which is great to see Telerik is extending the MS navigation system rather than their own proprietary version), however what throw me off, was what Adiel said by Vice versa, meaning can I start with Telerik version and then move to MS if I want to? That was my question to him!

Hi
I'll explain.
If Telerik just extended MS framework so the base is same and on top of it there is animation etc from Telerik - It's great!
But if the framework is different so I'll  need to totally replace all navigation code to migrate from MS to Telerik or from Telerik to MS I have to  decide from the beginning witch framework to use.
The great news from Nick that the upgrade will be available give me more space to start with MS and when the time ready to see what benefit I'll get from Telerik's framework.
Thanks guys.
