We have been using Telerik RadEditor since 1997 we are using version 4.4.1.0.  When I try to edit a page all of the icons are gone.  It just shows text for the buttons and when I try to use the MOSS Link Manager I get the following error :Could not find the command MOSSLinkManager.  Please update your command list.  I have no idea how to fix this.  Any ideas?

Hello Gail,

Could you please provide us with some more information? In what scenario are you using the RadEditor for MOSS? Is it web part, WCM or list scenario? Also please provide us with the content of your respective ConfigFile.xml, ToolsFile.xml (ListConfigFile.xml, ListToolsFiel.xml if you are in list scenario). You can find these files in the /Program Files/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/web server extensions/wpresources/RadEditorSharePoint/4.x.x.x__1f131a624888eeed/RadControls/Editor/ folder.

Thank you.

All the best,

Hello Stanimir,
Thank you for getting back to me.  We have the Telerik Editor wired into one of our layouts, so I'm not sure if that is a list scenario or not.  I have the files that you requested plus the layout that is using the Telerik editor but there doesn't seem to be a way to upload files here.

Thanks for your help,

Gail

Stanimir,

Our inability to correct this problem is causing work stoppage at our University.  We would certainly welcome a remote desktop sharing session if that would speed things up.

Thanks,

Gail

Hi License Developer,

Your configuration files and the provided code looks fine. From the provided screen shot I can tell the  following files are not loaded:
1. The skin files in the Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\wpresources\RadEditorSharePoint\4.4.1.0__1f131a624888eeed\RadControls\Editor\Skins\Default2006.
2. Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\wpresources\RadEditorSharePoint\4.4.1.0__1f131a624888eeed\RadControls\Editor\Scripts\7_2_1\MOSSEditorTools.js.

Could you please check if these files exist? Also make sure that they have the correct user rights.

Also you can use a debugging tool such as fiddler and check what is happening with the requests for these files.

Hello Stanimir,

Thank you for checking our files.  What we have found is that in IIS6, using the computer management console when we right click and "explore" we get to the buttons just fine under _wpresources/RadEditorSharePoint/4.4.1.0_1f131a624888eeed/RadControls/Editor/Skins/Default2006/Buttons.  However, when we try to broswe to the buttons we get a HTTP-404 File not found.  What we have found is that IIS6 does not seem to like the file name 4.4.10_1f131a624888eeed. If we take the "dots" out of the file name we can browse to the buttons just fine.  But this does not solve our problem becase if we take the "dots" out of the file name, if breaks the entire page on the site.  We have just recently installed SP2 on our clustered MOSS environment and the problem is on both of our front servers.  We don't know if SP2 has caused the problem.  Have you ever experienced this problem before?  Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Gail

Hello gail,

Please inform us if you have installed URLScan? The URLScan will reject any request in  a dot-in-path condition by default. If you installed it, you can set AllowDotInPath=1 in URLScan.ini to allow this.

Hello Stanimir,

We did have URLscan on our servers.  I edited the ini file as you suggested and it fixed the problem.  Thanks very much for your help.
