Hi,

This is a rookie question.

I just downloaded the Free Silverlight Controls.  It was a zip file containing 4 DLLs, a text file and an RTF file.  But, no instructions on how to use these!  How do I use them in Visual Studio 2010?

Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,

If you haven't used the RadControls for Silverlight before I would suggest you read the Installing RadControls article in the documentation. It describes how to deploy the RadControls from a MSI package, but there is a similar article about installing the RadControls from a ZIP file.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes,

I tried adding a tab in the Toolbox, then did "Choose Items...", from the Silverlight Components tab, clicked the "Browse..." button and selected the Telerik.Windows.Controls.dll file and clicked "Open". I got the following error:

The assembly 'Telerik.Windows.Controls, Version=2010.2.924.1040, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=5803cfa389c90ce7' could not be loaded. This assembly may have been downloaded from the web. See http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=179545.

Hello Paul,

As the error message says the problem is cause because the assembly have been downloaded from the web. I would suggest you to follow the link from the error message - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=179545.

Hi,
That worked.  I should have followed that link when I first got it.  At the time, I did not think I would have found anything useful there so I had not gone.
Thanks,
Paul
