Hi, Telerik folks!

I'm considering moving from RadEditor to Radeditor Ajax.  One issue I've come up against is that when I used the Image Editor in the Image Manager, and set the opacity filter and saved the image, it showed a lighter version of the image but saved a darker version of it.  I'm using the 10/1 release on IE6 and Firefox 3.0.2 on Windows XP Pro.

Thanks.

Laurie

Hello Laurie,

I suspect that the file you loaded in the Image Editor was a JPEG image (.jpg). I am afraid that this is a limitation of the image format - it not support transparency. Only the GIF and PNG formats will support the opacity setting correctly.

You're right.  I wonder if you might consider disabling opacity for jpg images.

Thanks.

Hi Laurie,

Unfortunately, at the moment we have no way of knowing the real format of the image until you click the "Save" button in the image editor. Sometimes images have the wrong extension (e.g. an image with extension .bmp is actually a .png file). That is why we have decided to skip image format checking on the client - it is not always reliable. I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you.

Kind regards,
