Hello Vincent,

Can you please explain in more detail what you want to achieve and what your scenario is?
Are you talking about the Document manager dialog or for another editor tool?

You can find information about the document manager in the following article: Documents.

Hi Rumen

Nice to see you again. I am talking about the Microsoft Document Explorer favorites (Telerik local help document). I had a lot of topics in the favorites, last time when I upgrade the telerik control, during the uninstallation process, it's all gone. So I'd like to back it up this time before I am trying to upgrade.

Hi Vincent,

Your Document Explorer favorites are stored in a file named favorites.xml under one of the following paths:
  • %appdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\VS Help Data - for Visual Studio 2005
  • %appdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\9.0\VS Help Data for Visual Studio 2008

Please, do not hesitate to contact us if any further questions arise.

Greetings,
Andrey

Hi Andrey

That's not right. I only have vs2010 installed on my machine. I opened the folder you've mentioned. I can see three xml files, one called favorites.xml, but it doesn't contain any content in it. The interesting thing is when I open the radcontrol document explorer, I still have few favorites topic in it but those topic name is not in the favorites.xml.

Hi Vincent,

I'm afraid we don't have the knowledge of where the DocumentExplorer favorites get stored. This is out of our expertise.

You could possibly post the question on StackOverflow, or the Microsoft forums...
