I know that grouping is currently not supported, but I was wondering if there is any suggested workaround for it...Currently, we are using a radgridview (which supports grouping) that we are exporting to excel. I have been able to use the spreadsheet control to handle the export, and that works great, the only piece missing is the group headers. The only thing I could think to do is loop through the spreadsheet and insert rows with the appropriate header when applicable (since it is exported sorted correctly). This works also, but it takes a lot of time.

Are there any other ways to accomplish this?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Hello Adrian,

RadSpreadsheet does not support grouping yet. We have this feature in our roadmap and once implemented, we will also make sure to extend the export and import from/to XLSX, so that such documents can be correctly persisted.

In the meantime, the only possible workaround would be to manually insert a row with the content of your heading. Unfortunately, there is no faster way to achieve the same look.

Hi Iva,

Thanks for the answer. I'm also interested in the grouping feature. Can you say something when it can be expected?

Thanks a lot,
René

Hi René,

Thank you for your interest in RadSpreadsheet!

Unfortunately we are still unable to comment on a particular time-frame for the grouping feature. Generally our roadmap is greatly influenced by the demand for particular features, so your feedback in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Let us know should you have any other comments or questions.
