Hi,

It's apparently possible to use the "Find & Replace" dialog when in HTML mode as see it here: http://screencast.com/t/kJVvkiobZh5p

But I'm facing two problems:
1. Our toolbar is configured as "ShowonFocus". And the toolbar is never displayed when I switch to HTML mode. When I refer to the article here: http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/toolbarmodes.html I don't see any explanation about how to show the toolbar in HTML mode.

2. When I change the toolbar configuration to "Default" I can see the toolbar in HTML mode but the "Find and Replace" icon is grayed as all other icons. So it makes the "Find & Replace" unusable. Is there any additional configuration to make the "Find & Replace" dialog enabled ? See it here: http://www.screencast.com/t/mPxlbH4Pev

I'm running IE 7 and RAD Editor 5.7.1 on MOSS 2007

Hi Sébastien,

Indeed the only way to use the Find and Replace dialog in Html mode of the editor is to set the ToolBarMode property to Default. How ever this feature is available only in Internet Explorer browser. In FireFox the dialog does not work in Html (source) mode due to browser restrictions. It is possible to search for a string in a TextArea in Firefox using the window.find(string) method only. This method however does not work as expected, because it finds only the first occurrence of a string in the text of the textarea and it does not find the following occurrences. In Opera it is not possible to find a text at all in a TextArea and since we want to offer only cross browser features, for a long time we have been deciding not to provide a Find & Replace dialog in HTML mode in all browsers. However due to a lot of user request we enabled it in IE a couple of versions ago.

Hi Thanks for your answer.

So if I understand you correctly I should be able to use the Find & Replace button when in HTML mode if I use IE, which I am.

But even when I switch the toolbar to "Default" the Find and Replace button is not available, I'm using IE 7 and  RAD Editor 5.7.1.

Sébastien.

Hi Sébastien Nunes,

Upgrade to the latest version of RadEditor for MOSS, which now is 5.8.2. You can find the upgrade instructions in the following online help article: Upgrading to a newer version of RadEditor for MOSS
