I have created the following dojo to show how the dropdownlist is maintaining its value when a new record is added into the grid.

Hello Bilal,
The described behavior is related to a bug in DropDownList that slipped Q1 2015 release. Please upgrade to the latest internal build of Kendo UI that is available for download from your Telerik account.
