Hi Andy Ho,

I'm not quite sure what you mean by assistant. Currently RadOrgChart only supports parent-child relationships between nodes and groups of nodes.

Bozhidar,

First of all, thanks for your prompt reply. Assistant is a common feature in many OrgChart applications, please refer to the attached sample.

Another good feature is "multiple parent", which indicate someone is direct report to "A" but functional report (dotted line) to "B".

Hello Andy Ho,

The RadOrgChart is a new control and currently these features are not implemented. But thank you for the suggestions. We'll consider them in the further development of the control.

Best wishes,

Hi Sathish,

The RadOrgChart control is designed to always have only one root node. In case that you want two main branches you could just united them with one root node.

Hello Mohamed,

For now we are not planning to implement assistant feature. We recommend you to use group-enabled binding and to have a separate group for the assistant.

Peter,

Sad to hear that. "Assistant" is so common in every company.

On the other hand, Sathish's suggestion on "Multi-parent" actually mean sometimes one staff many have 2 (or more) boss, or 1 call direct report, 1 call functional report (dotted line).  Also a common practice, so please consider.

Thank you!

Hello Anahi,

The RadOrgChart control does not support the assistant functionality. We are doing a research how to improve the control and as soon as the functionality is ready it will be announced. Until then you could use the group-enabled binding and place the assistant there or you could style it differently.

"Assistant" is really common feature in Org. Charts...we use Telerik a lot but this one is required by many of our customers. Any chance you can add the Assistant node type to your Org. chart?
