Hi all -

I just installed the latest version of the Telerik Controls (Q3 2013 2nd hotfix).  After doing so, it seems that the build in CSS icon classes for the buttons are no longer in color.  All of our buttons had the  PrimaryIconCssClass property set to the built in classes like rbOK, rbAdd, rbCancel, etc.  In the new release, they are just black and white.  How can I get the colored icons back?  I know I can physically add my own icon, but I like the ones Telerik provided....and still do, but no longer in color?

Thanks!

Christy

Hello,

We are currently in the process of renewing the embedded icons of RadButton. The latest internal build contains only temporary icons for all skins that are relevant to the Silk and Glow skins. We will restore back the new embedded color icons as soon as we are ready with their improvements not later than the upcoming official service pack scheduled for the end of January.

Thanks for your understanding.

Did this happen as a result of the Q32013 release or the SP2 release?  If it was the SP2, perhaps I will just uninstall that?

Hello,

It is supposed to be as a result of the latest internal builds for the SP2 release.
Uninstalling it might revert back the built in color icons of RadButton.

Would this also explain the complete absence of 24pt icons for e.g. rbEdit24? Why was this release allowed out with resources missing?

Hello,

As the buttons now have three set of icons, and in the previous internal built version it was used the colorless versions, for the SP2 the color icons were missed by mistake. It is already fixed and they will be available with the next official release - SP1 2014 planned for 19th of February as also in the next internal build.

Are you saying we now have three choices for each embedded icon?  How do I access them?  Does rbAdd become rbAddBlack or something like that?

Some of the black "temporary" icons on the demo page have a different image than before.  For example, rbRemove used to be an X that looks similar to rbCancel.  I much prefer the trash can image for rbRemove, but I don't have it as an option on most of the skins.

I am wondering the same as Phil posted above... why was this released before it was ready?

Thank you,

Matt

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Telerik support. No, you do not have the option to choose which set of icons to be used. Each built-in skin runs with a specific set of icons which is proper for its color scheme.

Now all three set of icons are completed and available. I do not know about the release schedule exactly, but firstly it was decided to have only two set of icons and next after the release some customers asked to make one more - colorized, so it was added too.

If you like to use built-in skin with a set different than its default, you could take the sprite and make a few custom CSS that will use the specific icons.
