Every time I start VS 2010 I am prompted to update Telerik WebUI VSExtensions from 2013.2.611 to 2013.3.1022 however when I click on the Install button after the update is downloaded the install just hangs and does nothing indefinitely.

The biggest problem is that I cannot even Uninstall 2013.2.611. When I go to Installed Extensions and click on Uninstall button I am prompted with "Are you sure you want to uninstall..." but when I click on Yes absolutely nothing happens.

This is in VS 2010 both when I choose "Run as Administrator" or run it normally...

How do I fix this problem?

Hello Dean,

Thank you for contacting us.

I would suggest you manually removing the WebUI VSExtensions installation and than installing the latest extensions version. You can follow these steps:
  1. Navigate to %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE\Extensions\Telerik and delete the Telerik WebUI VSExtensions folder if exist
  2. Navigate to %localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\10.0\Extensions\Telerik and delete the Telerik WebUI VSExtensions folder if exist
  3. In VS2010 go to  Tools-> Extension Manager... -> Online Gallery. In the Search Online Gallery field (in the top right corner) type "Telerik WebUI VSExtensions".  Download and install the Telerik WebUI VSExtensions package
  4. Restart VS2010

Please don't hesitate to contact us if you need further assistance.

Hi Digambar,

Thank you for writing us.

Currently the VSExtensions for Visual Studio 2012 or later versions are stored under different location on the file system. I would suggest to navigate to the following location: %localappdata%\Microsoft\VisualStudio\12.0\Extensions

Our VSExtensions components are stored in three randomly named folders, so I would suggest to traverse each randomly named folder and if it contains Telerik assemblies remove it. Note that it is recommended to close any Visual Studio instances before removing any of the above mentioned folders.

Please let us know if further assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dyanko
