    Hi,

i have a viewmodel 'people' with a list of persons. Each person has a name and a list of addresses.
How can i show this data in two panelbars?

The first panelbar should be filled with the data of the people and for each person should be a panelbar filled with the addresses.

    - person1
      - adress1
         - street
         - postal code
      - adress2
         - street
         - postal code
    - person2
      - adress1
         - street
         - postal code
      - adress2
         - street
         - postal code
    - person3
    ...

    Hello Hugo,

There is really no need to nest PanelBars. Please take a look at the sample project I prepared for you and let me know if the approach I suggest in it will work for you.

    Best wishes,

    Hi,

thanks for that nice example. The datastructure in my example is very simplified. I decided to use nested panelbars to keep the gui clear.

In your example the behaviour of the address-elements is like it is at nested panelbars, but they don't look like nested panelbars. Can i let the address-elements look like a panelbar?

    thx 4 help

    Hi Hugo,

There is currently a known bug in the mechanism for styling items deeper than the root items in the hierarchy. This means that if you cannot achieve the look you are after with styling the DataTemplate for the address fields, you will have to go for the approach with the nested PanelBars after all.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may cause you.

    All the best,

How to do PanelBar in PanelBar?

I have the same issue, the second level bar, like Address1 and Address2 in this sample, doesn't look like a bar. So, I want to know how to do Panel in Panel.

    Thanks for help!

    Hello James,

Unfortunately this scenario is not yet supported. We will be working on this functionality after our official Q1 2011 release which is scheduled for the second half of March. I've added an item in our public issue tracking system under the name "PanelBar: Second level items cannot be styled to look like first level items" and it will be available for tracking and voting tomorrow the latest. I've also updated your Telerik points accordingly. Let me know if you have further questions or comments regarding this issue.
