We have a number of clients in France. The RadSpell flags many words that are not misspelled, however we are not sure how to "fix" the source dictionary.

    Thanks!

Here is an example - In red is what it took as a spell error but it is correct. Any suggestions??

    Hi Greg,

Thank you for reporting this problem.

We are aware of the apostrophe issue and it is due to a limitation in the spellchecking algorithm that r.a.d.spell uses. The problem is logged in our bug tracking system and we will do our best to enhance the spellchecking mechanism of r.a.d.spell in one of the next major updates of the control.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

    Best regards,
    Rumen

    Rumen,

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately, our French clients consider it to be unusable. Do you have a time frame for when it will be fixed? Do you have an alternative suggestion? (Other than MS Word)

    Thank you.
    Greg

    Hello Greg Pengiel,

Unfortunately, we cannot specify any time frame for this request as we are considering whether a possible way to achieve it exists and if so which the best one is. It is a common issue with many other spellchecking products. Just for example:
    http://www.keyoti.com/products/rapidspell/dotNetWeb/RapidSpellWeb.net-Demo3/Misc/NonEnglishDictionaries.aspx

At the moment we have concentrated on the coming release at the end of April and will not be able to fit this request in our busy schedule. We will definitely do our best to work on it for the hotfix - about a month after the release date but I cannot guarantee any certain date.

    All the best,
    Petya

    Hi,

Was this ever fixed?  Not only does the spell checker report every word with an apostrophe in French, but it doesn't add them to the custom dictionary.  I realize that Greg was using an old version as am I (in one particular site).  I'm looking to find out if any version since has solved the issue, and to know the first version that did.

    Thanks!

    Hi Eric,

Please, find attached a new version of the fr-FR dictionary which contains the words with apostrophes. I hope this helps.
