Telerik OpenAccess ORM has been renamed Telerik Data Access. While the product name and logo have changed, there are no breaking changes in the API.
The new GetObjectsByKeys method will enable you to select multiple objects of the same type with a single batch, using the identity of the type as a key. This compares to calling GetObjectByKeys numerous times. It can yield significantly better performance, depending on the number of retrieved objects.
Responding to your many requests in our Ideas & Feedback Portal, Telerik Data Access is now compatible and tested with the ODP.NET Managed Driver, and you can choose to use it in your Oracle-based data layers. It offers a simplified deployment scenario with just one assembly, side by side with other versions of ODP.NET.
Support for VistaDB has been upgraded, and we are now testing Telerik Data Access with the latest 5.0 version.
Oracle constraints referring to views are now visible on the Telerik Data Access Visual Designer.
The design-time tools of Telerik Data Access are now fully compatible with the official version of Visual Studio 2013. The solutions of Data Access Samples Kit are now also compatible and can be opened with the new Visual Studio.
With the service pack, you can specify a specific isolation level for your context, this way achieving a greater flexibility that can help you fine-tune your transactions. The supported Isolation Levels are Read Uncommitted, Read Committed, and Snapshot.
By default, Telerik Data Access will not use transactions for read operations anymore, leading to a performance improvement of up to 30% depending on the scenario. The transactions for reads can now be explicitly switched on by a new setting BackendConfiguration.Runtime.ReadWithoutTransactions.
Improvements in the Fluent API Dictionary mapping enables it to be used in a backend independent manner, without specifying SQL types, but only providing guidelines about the types (length, scale, "max" size, etc.).
