• Various Rotator Types

  The rotator type specifies how the rotator will render and what options the user will have for interacting with it on the client. Possible values for this property are: AutomaticAdvance, ButtonsOver, Buttons, SlideShow, SlideShowButtons, and FromCode.

• Scroll Directions

  The possible directions for scrolling rotator frames are Up, Down, Left and Right. This property can take as value a combination of the above: Up and Down, Left and Right, etc.

• ScrollDuration, FrameDuration, WrapFrames

  You can easily customize the appearance and transition between frames of the Telerik ASP.NET Rotator. ScrollDuration specifies the speed in milliseconds for scrolling the rotator frames, while FrameDuration defines the time in milliseconds each frame will be displayed in automatic scrolling scenarios. When set to true, WrapFrames configures Telerik ASP.NET Rotator to start scrolling the rotator frames from the beginning, once the rotator shows the last frame. Users have control and can customize all of the above-mentioned features.

• Live XML

  The ASP.NET Rotator control by Telerik has support for live XML feeds. Users can make use of this feature very easily - all they need to do is use an XmlDataSource source and set it to the URL of the live feed. Finally, they might need to set the XmlDataSource's XPath (e.g. "rss/channel/item" for RSS feeds). This way they could easily deliver public news to their site using their own formatting and styling.

• Rich Client-side API

  Telerik ASP.NET Rotator has a rich client-side API and comprehensive set of events guaranteeing full control over various functions performed on the client.
  

  • OnClientItemClicked - raised after an item is clicked
  • OnClientMouseOver - raised when the mouse hovers over an item
  • OnClientMouseOut - raised after the mouse leaves an item
  • OnClientItemShowing - raised when an item is about to be shown
  • OnClientItemShown - raised after an item has been shown
  • ShowNext(direction) method - scrolls the rotator in the specified direction and shows the next frame. The direction parameter must be of type Telerik.Web.UI.RotatorScrollDirection.
  • Get_frameDuration() - gets the currentrotator frame duration

• Server Events

  RadRotator has a server side event - ItemClicked. Developers may choose to use this event to perform various actions. The event supplies a special RadRotatorClickEventArgs class which contains reference to the frame that was clicked by the user. You can use that reference to obtain the ItemIndex of the frame and use it in your own event handling logic.
