    Requirements

    RadControls version

    2010 Q1

    .NET version

    3.5

    Visual Studio version

    2008

    programming language

    C#

    browser support

    all browsers supported by RadControls

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION
I've put toghether a sample that shows how to use checkboxes in a RadTreeView which are bound to data from an XML File.

This would come in handy when you need to create a Config file for dynamic settings a user needs to be able to change.

The sample also uses Prism and MVVM patterns.

I'll be posting other samples to this community as well.  If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

P.S. Attaching code.  The link above I used to create an Article.  You may need to be logged into the community for the link above.  If it doesn't, please go to http://www.dotnetpatterns.net

The source code is attached to a response at the bottom of this thread as well.

    Hello Kris,

Thank you for the provided link and details. We greatly appreciate them. As the format of our Code Library projects require an attached application, I would kindly ask you to attach the application to this thread so that  we can publish the project online in the Code Library section.

    Kind regards,
    Boyan

    Hi Kris,

You should upload a ZIP file. Our uploader does not allow files with extension .RAR. I believe this restriction is made by the webteam in order that clients do not need additional program for unzipping files and make some consistency for the attached files. So if you change the archive to .zip  you should have no problems uploading the file.

    Hello Boyan,

FYI.  If that's the case, could we get the test of the uploader changed?  It reads:

20MB: the max total size of all attached files
    Allowed extensions: .zip, .rar

Also, I just changed it to a zip file and it doesn't look like uploaded again.  I choose the file, you watch the progress count all the way up and there are no errors.  The file just doesn't appear to show up.

I've also tried this from a machine at work with the same problem.  I've been trying to edit the original post.  This time I'm trying to add it to this new response.

P.S.  It looks like it worked with the new reply but wouldn't with trying to edit the original post.

    Hi k f,

Would you mind deleting all the unnecessary comments/posts from this thread and leaving only the first post containing the code library project  and its description so that the users can focus only on the attached sample?

    Best wishes,

I am not able to unzip the attached file. I am getting the "The Compressed (Zipped) folder '182343_rtvch.zip' is invalid" error. Is something wrong with this file? I am trying to get the RadTreeView checkboxes bound to a property in my ViewModel (MVVM).

Please let me know what I am doing wrong.

    Thanks.

    SK,

I'm not sure what the deal is.  I use WinRar.  I used windows to compress the files attached but I had problems.

My website I used to have multiple domains pointing at it but decided on one.

You can find the download here
    http://www.dotnetpatterns.net/content/155-RadTreeView-Checkboxes-bound-to-an-XML-file-using-Prism-MVVM?s=e446aab29bd2eb7ad192688ac4702799

I'll see if I can get it rezipped with Windows or something and try to repost.

P.S.  I don't have the option of uploading the file anymore.  The link above contains a file that works.  (The file name on the website got truncated but will be correct when you click it and get prompted to download.)
