Overview

• Rich Event Handling

  The DragAndDrop framework provides a wide set of events that can be used to handle the actions happening upon a drag and drop operation. Using the variety of events you can adjust the Drag And Drop actions to your very custom application’s logic, thus providing a great flexibility to the users.

• Visual ArrowCue

  Telerik Silverlight DragAndDrop enables you to set a visual cue while dragging an element. This visual cue will be stretched and rotated in a way that the cue’s left side will point to the original mouse position of the drag, while its right side will be the current mouse position. The visual cue will guide the users as they perform the drag and drop operations.

• Visual DragCue

  Telerik Silverlight DragAndDrop uses a DragCue to follow the mouse while the user performs drag and drop operations. The DragCue appears always on top of other objects. This feature is another visual guide for the drag and drop operations. It ease the users while reordering elements on the pages.

• ScrollViewers

  The Silverlight DragAndDrop control by Telerik will automatically use ScrollViewers to reveal content when the destination of the drag and drop operation is not visible. This makes the drag and drop process applicable even when the operation should be performed with parts of the page that are not visible on the screen.

• Enhanced Routed Events Framework

  To help your code become even more elegant and concise, we implemented Enhanced Routed Events Framework for RadControls for Silverlight.  This gives you more freedom when you design your applications since you can write instance handlers as well as class handlers for the routed events of our controls.

• Silverlight/WPF Code Compatibility

  The Silverlight Scheduler shares a single codebase with its WPF version. This means that you can achieve close to 100% code reuse for your drag/drop logic if you have parallel Silverlight / WPF development.

• DragDrop within a TreeView and between TreeViews

  The RadTreeView for Silverlight uses the Telerik Drag & Drop to allow rearranging of items within the same control and across different TreeViews.

• Drag Threshold

  You can choose the minimum distance that a user needs to move the mouse to start a drag operation.  With this accidental and unwanted dragging can be avoided.

• Drag & Drop Over Tabs

  The built-in Drag and Drop mechanism used in the TabControl is derived from the Telerik Drag & Drop Framework. You can simply drag items from the active tab and drop them in another tab.
