    Hello,

    Can you provide some more details or exception if any, so we can investigate it further.

    I really really would love to ... but I simply cannot.

    I tried to launch the .exe 9 different ways and it the application will just not start.

    No error, no nothing.

    Sorry,

    Good Morning,

    Telerik ControlPanel performed an update ( can't remember when, but it was within the last 7 days ).
    The version I had before did not start either ( without a huge Exception screen, which I mailed as requested in the Exception window )

    Thinking of it, JustDecompile has never actually run on this machine here. Everything else does.

    Regards,
    S.Reisinger

    Hello Stephan,

    I will ask you for something. Can you browse to the root installation folder of the JD, remove the "Plugins" folder and the start the app.

    Kind regards,

    That is a really weird problem. We tried a bunch of things and could come up with nothing similar on our side. So it'd be really nice if you guys could help us some further on that. We simply have no other chance of tackling it and that is something we definitely want fixed.

    So, could you, please, complete the following shport procedure http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/a329t4ed(v=vs.100).aspx for JustDecompile.exe? That is going to tell Windows attach the Visual Studio debugger to JustDecompile.exe on each run. Then if you go to Visual studio Debug menu and click on Exceptions there you'll get the chance to make the VS debugger break on any CLR exception. If you then start JustDecompile the VS debugger will automatically get attached to it and the debugger is going to break when that TypeLoadException occurs. Then you can get the exception object itself and check out the values of all it's properties, e.g. Message, InnerException, TypeName, etc. it'd be really nice if you could send over all these to us. These are gonna provide much needed information.

    Here is the information from the debugger:
    System.TypeLoadException was unhandled
      Message=Could not load type 'Mono.Cecil.AssemblyDefinitionFailureEventHandler' from assembly 'Mono.Cecil, Version=0.9.5.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=0738eb9f132ed756'.
      Source=JustDecompile
      TypeName=Mono.Cecil.AssemblyDefinitionFailureEventHandler
      StackTrace:
           at JustDecompile.App..ctor()
           at JustDecompile.App.() in c:\Builds\126\Behemoth\JustDecompile Production Build\Sources\UI\JustDecompile\obj\Release\App.g.cs:line 16777215
      InnerException:

    I checked the C:\Program Files (x86)\Telerik\JustDecompile\Libraries directory and Mono.Cecil.dll version 0.9.5.0 is there.  Also checked the dll itself with Reflector and
    public delegate void AssemblyDefinitionFailureEventHandler(object sender, Exception ex);

    is there.  So I have attached two screen shots of all locations of Mono.Cecil.dll on my machine.  Possibly there is a conflict with another copy of the file.

    Hi Joe,

     Thanks a bunch for the assistance. I have assigned some telerik Points to your account to compensate for your time.

    The different versions of Mono.Cecil definitely are the cause of the problem on your side. You have a version of Mono.Cecil in the GAC that has teh same strong name as the one JustDecompile uses but its size is different. Hence, the chances are it is different than the JD Mono.Cecil. Since the GAC gets checked first by the assembly loader the wrong Mono.Cecil gets loaded on your side.

    We are definitely gonna fix this asap and we are going to send you guys a fixed build. Please, stay tuned.

    Hi Miguel,

     Thanks for letting us know about this problem. Since there is nothing in the event viewer it seems that JustDecompile is exiting on its own, and not because of an unhandled exception.
     Can you try attaching Visual Studio to JustDecompile as Tsviatko mentioned above (link to the post), and tell us what exceptions are thrown during the execution of the program? This information can give us some hints about what is causing the problem.
