  Hello,
  
  I'm evaluating the PanelBar in the accordion mode as a means to present important information to users.  I'm wondering it it were possible to change the very "basic" animation when changing the selected panel.  In comparison to your other controls, the change animation is rather unappealing.  If changing or adding animation is unavailable at this time, would it be available in a future release?

  Currently you can change the default animation in the RadPanelBar control by editing its ControlTemplate, although it may not be trivial. We are planning to improve the default animation and provide an easier way to swap the default one for a custom animation for our next major release - 2009 Q3.

  Was this functionality included in the upcoming Q3 release? I was looking at the beta demos online and there were no updates to the PanelBar that I could tell. Admittedly I am not experienced with Silverlight, although I am planning on delving into it very soon. If you could provide an example of how to change the default animation for expanding items that would be greatly appreciated.

  Is there now a better way to change the animation style?  The aspx version has quite a nice animation style.  Any plans for porting that to Silverlight?

  There isn't a better way to change the animation style of the RadPanelBar for now. Also we haven't planned to implement the animation style you referred to, however we will definitely consider it.

  Is there a way to make the animation slide out to right side of the whole control, rather than under each panel bar item? Right now I only see a horizontal slide if the orientation of the panel bar items is horizontal as well.

  Thank you for contacting us. Currently this scenario is not supported. I've added a feature request in out public issue tracking system under the name "PanelBar: Make expand animation to be horizontal when Orientation is Horizontal" and it will be available for tracking and voting tomorrow the latest. If this feature request gathers enough popularity we will definitely implement it. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
