Using Telerik Reporting with WCF RIA Services
Due to the rising popularity of Rich Internet Applications (RIA) e.g. Silverlight applications, the developers get more dependent on services for coordinating application logic between the middle tier and the presentation tier and the logical question raises how to use an already working WCF RIA Service as a datasource for Telerik Report. This is very useful if you want to enable the exact same business data access logic for clients other than Silverlight. For example to a WPF, WinForms or WebForms application. SP1 of Telerik Reporting Q2 2010 released; new videos on their way
A few days ago we released the Service Pack 1 of Telerik Reporting Q2 2010. Although this is the first Service Pack for Telerik Reporting for this release, it is quite impressive in the amount of improvements it contains in all product fronts - VS report designer, data source components, report rendering and processing, and in the report viewers. Roadmap for Telerik Reporting Q3 2010 has been posted
In case you've missed it, the Q3 2010 Telerik Reporting Roadmap has been posted on our site. Although seemingly short, our plans are quite exciting, because we are to extend the report interactivity we introduced in Q2 2010 with Drill-down (expand/collapse) and Sorting for our crosstab, table, and list report items. In addition, we have started working on a XML Report Serialization Engine which will allow report definitions to be represented in XML and saved as a stand-alone XML file. Finally, an important note: in Q3 2010 the Silverlight Report Viewer will be build against Silverlight 4 only. The reason is simple: the Silverlight Report Viewer utilizes our RadControls for Silverlight controls and themes, which...

Install the corresponding Telerik Reporting version. Create a new WPF application project in Visual Studio Add references to the following Telerik RadControls for WPF assemblies: Telerik.Windows.Controls Telerik.Windows.Controls.Input Telerik.Windows.Controls.Navigation Telerik.Windows.Data NOTE: It is possible that the RadControls for WPF assemblies have a greater version than the one against which the WPF Report Viewer control was built. In this case you have to add appropriate assembly binding...
