Telerik UI for Xamarin RichTextEditor is now official! The control enables users to create rich textual content through a set of tools for generating, editing and formatting of text, paragraphs, lists, hyperlinks and more.
Telerik UI for Xamarin Goes DarkMode
Devices typically support light and dark themes, and each theme refers to a broad set of appearance preferences that can be set at the operating system level. The system theme may change for a variety of reasons, depending on the device configuration, e.g. changed by the user, based on the time of day (light for daytime, dark for night), etc.
Whatever the case, Xamarin.Forms mobile applications should respect these system theme preferences and respond immediately when the system theme changes.
With R1 2021, we are happy to announce that all controls of the Telerik UI for Xamarin suite respond to system theme changes.
TabView Features and Improvements
Mobile applications today are all about touch gestures. Based on our customers’ generous feedback, we have implemented multiple new gesture features and improvements to our TabView control to enhance the user experience. The new features include:
Support for Disabled Tabs
The Telerik TabView control now supports an ability to disable individual tabs for Xamarin TabView control.
Support for Sliding Tabs Header
New functionality that enables users to scroll through the items in a TabView Header. This is useful when not all items fit on the screen, and the user can swipe to show the items not currently visible.
Support for Switching Tabs with Swipe Gesture
You can now switch to the next or previous tab when you use swipe gestures to the left or right on the TabView content, like the SlideView or Carousel control.
DataGrid Filtering UI: Show/Hide the OptionsButton
A new property in the Telerik DataGrid allows you to define the visibility of the OptionsButton. You can choose to either show or hide the button.
WordsProcessing: Support for Content Controls & Exporting Floating Images to PDF
Floating Image is an inline-level anchor flow document element linked with a floating image object. Currently, the supported image extensions are JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, TIFF, TIF, GIF, ICON, WMF and EMF. With R1 2021, we are happy to announce that the WordsProcessing document library is now equipped to enable you to export documents with floating images to PDF as well.
PdfViewer Support for Importing Documents with Type 3 Fonts
The PdfViewer now fully supports importing documents in Type 3 fonts.
