Roadmap

Coming in 2024

We are pleased to announce our updated product release schedule, aiming to increase the frequency in which we deliver value to you.  Here is the timeline for our upcoming major releases this year:

  • 2024 Q1 Release - Month: February
  • 2024 Q2 Release - Month: May
  • 2024 Q3 Release - Month: August
  • 2024 Q4 Release - Month: November

In addition to the major releases, we will continue to deliver incremental improvements through our 6-week release cadence.

The KendoReact Team is excited to announce the roadmap for new components and features on our list for release. Most of them will be available as early as February with our Q1 release. 

Feedback from our customers is a big piece of these plans. The KendoReact components have evolved to what they are today thanks to feedback from folks like you. Feel free to share your plans, requirements, and ideas for what you would like to see next in the KendoReact library by posting in our feedback portal.

We will start with the 5-10 most used KendoReact components. Stay tuned for these exciting updates as we continue to enhance and elevate your experience with our software product! 

Trendline Support

New feature

Unleash the potential of data trends with Exponential, Polynomal, Logarithm/Natural Logarithm and Power trend lines. Seamlessly integrate these powerful tools with various chart types in DataViz - Bar, Column, and Scatter. Dive into extensive configuration options for chart series, axis, labels, and legends. 

 

Control Legend Display

Take charge of your visual narrative. Customize legend displays to suit your style. Tailor not just the color but also the marker shape, adding a unique identifier to series. It's more than customization; it's empowerment. 

 

Prefix and Suffix Support

New feature

New Input Adornment feature, enhancing user interface interactivity and clarity by providing intuitive cues and direct functionality like password visibility toggles and unit indicators. 

 

Grid Enhancement

Clipboard support gets a facelift! Seamlessly copy/paste data between the Grid and Excel. Responsive columns are now supported, enhancing your data management experience. And that's just the beginning – stay tuned for more grid improvements.

Revamped popup edit forms for a slicker application design. Expect enhanced functionality and aesthetics for a more streamlined project management experience. 

 

Spreadsheet Enhancement

Your spreadsheet experience gets an upgrade. Built-in cut/copy/paste commands and a custom editor for Spreadsheet cells are on the horizon, promising a smoother and more efficient user experience. 

PivotGrid Enhancement

A11Y Keyboard Navigation Improvements

Enhance accessibility with refined keyboard navigation. Effortlessly scroll through chart elements using your keyboard, making your visualizations more accessible and user-friendly. 

 

Color System Evolution

We are introducing a new unified color system across all Kendo themes, ensuring a shared palette of colors. This enhancement will foster consistency and efficiency in styling across various themes, while also decreasing the size of theme files. For additional details, refer to our blog post.

 

Telerik and Kendo UI Design Kits for Figma Upgrade!

A significant overhaul to our Figma UI Kits is on the way! Central to these updates is the introduction of a rich variables library, seamlessly integrated with our design system. This library includes dynamic color, spacing, and radii variables, ensuring consistency and flexibility across your designs. Additionally, we're enhancing our Typography and Elevation systems to provide even more design possibilities. Dark mode enthusiasts will rejoice as we introduce Dark mode options, complemented by common theme color swatches. Our file structure has been revamped for improved organization, making it easier than ever to find what you need. Stay tuned for the addition of new components, including updates aligned with MS Fluent 2. Detailed component descriptions and improved color contrast are planned later in the year. Get ready for a smoother, more efficient design workflow with our upcoming Kendo and Telerik UI kits for Figma upgrade!

Seamless integration is our commitment. We're proud to announce that 100% of our components would soon be optimized for Next.js and Vite. It's not just about compatibility – it's about achieving first-class integration, ensuring our components seamlessly leverage the top features of Next.js. And to make it even more accessible, we're providing a demo app to showcase the magic in action.
