Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core

ASP.NET Core PivotGrid v2 Local Binding

New feature R3 2022

The local binding feature within the new version of the PivotGrid will allow developers to bind the component to arrays or object collections without needing OLAP cubes or similar data sources on the server-side.

ASP.NET Core Data Grid

New feature

As we aim with every release to further improve the ASP.NET Core Data Grid component, in the upcoming releases we have several new features including initial sort configuration, disabling the column menu easily via a configuration option, and other improvements based on your feedback.

Accessibility Improvements

In 2022 we are focusing on further improving the components’ accessibility compliance levels and documentation. The Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core library is undergoing an accessibility review based on an industry-standard testing process. Throughout the year we are addressing and improving multiple items and resources.

New ASP.NET Core DropDownButton Component

New component R3 2022

Another addition to the Button UI component collection is the new DropDownButton for ASP.NET Core. Previously only available as a built-in component within the ToolBar, the new DropDownButton is a standalone ASP.NET Core UI component that displays a drop-down list when the main button element is clicked.

New ASP.NET Core SplitButton Component

New component R3 2022

This list of available Button UI components in Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core will grow with the addition of a Split Button. The new ASP.NET Core SplitButton components will allow users to execute a default action or to choose a predefined action from a drop-down list. The component combines the functionality of a standard button plus a selection of button commands from a drop-down, which appears when clicked.

Grid Toolbar Template Option

New feature R3 2022

As part of the effort around improving the TagHelper reference in UI for ASP.NET Core, we are going to ship a grid toolbar template option and address a popular request.

ASP.NET Core Signature Component

New component R3 2022

The new Signature component aims at providing end-users with an area to draw their signature in ASP.NET Core applications. Users will be able to add signatures using their mouse or fingertips.

Telerik Code Snippets in Visual Studio

New feature

To increase developer productivity, we will introduce code snippets of Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core components within Visual Studio. You will be able to easily reference the needed component in the IDE by typing shortcut. Then, using a tab sequence, you can fill out component properties, options, model and controller actions.

New Fluent Theme in UI for ASP.NET Core

Improvement R3 2022

We are happy to announce that soon you will be able to take advantage of a brand new theme: the Fluent theme. It will be added to the built-in collection of themes: Default, Bootstrap, and Material already available for Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core users.

The Fluent theme will allow the Telerik UI components to follow the Microsoft Fluent Design System guidelines for web applications and will be available by simply including a reference. From there, any Telerik UI component can fit the look and feel of the Fluent Design System. No additional configuration will be needed.

Compact ASP.NET Core Data Grid

New feature

The new Compact Grid feature, also called a High Density Grid, focuses on displaying as much information as possible in a single Grid component by reducing the padding and margins used by elements within the ASP.NET Core Grid. The end-result is a data table with a more condensed look-and-feel which gives the opportunity to display more data at once.

The new compact grid feature will be offered through configuration options and can be used in combination with any of the built-in Default, Bootstrap, Material, and (upcoming) Fluent themes.

Telerik REPL for ASP.NET Core

New feature
The interactive browser based server-code runner for ASP.NET Core will be further enhanced and will the referencing of custom data models and controllers, allowing you to seamlessly run and share your own code samples.

Cloud Integration Examples and Documentation

Based on your feedback we will create documentation and example resources to get you up to speed when creating ASP.NET Core apps with Telerik components, which require integration with popular cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google.

ASP.NET Core Visual Studio Scaffolder

New feature

The new Visual Studio Scaffolding for Telerik ASP.NET Core will enable you to quickly add code that interacts with models and reduces the development efforts related with data operations in projects. Scaffolding will provide you with an easy way to create Views and Controller methods for some of the most used data components.

GridLayout & StackLayout Components

New component Customer Feedback

The GridLayout & StackLayout UI components will help developers who transition from desktop development to build and arrange web layout in a familiar way by stacking UI components within ASP.NET Core applications.

More TAG Helper Demos & Code Examples

Telerik UI for ASP.NET Core offers two flavors for initializing and configuring the components – HTML and TAG Helpers. In 2021 we received a lot of feedback regarding the need for more TAG Helper demos and documentation and we plan to address that demand throughout our next releases in 2021/2022.

New TimeDurationPicker Component

New component

The TimeDurationPicker component is one of the highly requested items in the community and we plan to add it to the offering with capabilities to configure and pick up various time duration intervals: days, hours, minutes, seconds and milliseconds.

TextBox & TextArea Enhancements

New feature

The TextBox and TextArea will soon have the configuration option to turn on or off the Character Counter feature next to the respective element. This ensures better user experience and gives clarity on the Character count as the user is typing in their content.
