Calling Javascript functions from RadHtmlPlaceholder

This article describes how to call Javascript functions of an HTML page loaded inside RadHtmlPlaceholder.
To begin with, create a new Silverlight Web Application Project and call it RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript. This will add 2 projects to your solution: RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript and RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript.Web.

Open RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascriptTestPage.aspx which is located inside the RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript.Web project and make the page Windowless="true" (this is prerequisite for RadHtmlPlaceholder to work properly).

While still in RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript.Web project, add your HTML page that contains the Javascript. This example uses a simple HTML page called SimplePage.html (duh) with the following content:


As you have guessed correctly, we will make the Silverlight call the test() function.

Next in the list is to add a RadHtmlPlaceholder in the RadHtmlPlaceholderAndJavascript project. Reference theTelerik.Windows.Controls.dll and add a RadHtmlPlaceholder in Page.xaml. Make the SourceUrl property of the RadHtmlPlaceholder to be the previously created SimplePage.html.





And now, the most important part of this article - calling the Javascript function after the "Call Javascript" button has been clicked. Go to the Page.xaml.cs and edit the Button_Click event handler.


Pretty self explanatory, right? Now if you run the sample and click the "Call Javascript" button you should get the following result.
