Progress Kendo UI

jQuery Editor

  • Overview

The Editor allows users to create rich text content by means of a WYSIWYG interface. This HTML5 widget outputs identical HTML across all major browsers, follows accessibility standards and provides an API for content manipulation. The generated widget value is comprised of XHTML markup.

  • Creating and Formatting Text, Paragraphs, Lists, Tables and More

The Kendo UI Editor lets users create and format text using the familiar Bold, Italic, Underline, Justify, Indent, etc. buttons. Let them set different font names and sizes, text and background colors, as well as style existing HTML elements. Give them options to easily insert and format lists, tables, images, hyperlinks and form elements. Add predefined CSS class names to provide even more styling options, or create your own custom tools, buttons, dropdowns or dialogs to meet your requirements.

  • Users can insert and edit hyperlinks with ease thanks to the out-of-the-box Hyperlink Manager settings, such as text, target, tooltip. Using the Image Manager, users can select an image from a library, preview it and change its properties, (size, position, alt text) or edit the image itself by cropping, rotating, etc.

  • Content Style

Provide predefined styles for the content of your Kendo UI Editor. This enables you to either have content which adheres to a specific style, or have a list of available styles for your users.
  • Rich Text Editing

Enable users to enter and modify text in an interface they are already familiar with. Thanks to the intuitive toolbox of the Editor component, they will be very comfortable editing text on the web.
  • Client-Side API

Manipulate and interact with the Kendo UI Editor and its content, all in JavaScript, thanks to the extensive client-side API and events.
  • High Level of Customization

Define your own content filters for content validation, specify which tools to be displayed in the toolbar or create your own commands, be it buttons or drop-downs. Implement new commands with custom dialogs or load external ones. Even create your own file browser content providers to utilize different sources - including databases, cloud services, custom role-based CMS systems, Web Services and applications which use URL re-writers.

  • File Attachment Support

Kendo UI Editor allows your end-users to attach files, making HTML editing even easier. The widget supports an array of file types with the following extensions: txt, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, zip, rar, jpg, jpeg, gif, png.
