Hello,

The splitbutton logic is not working well in Q1 2015. It was ok in Q3 '14. Consider this:

<telerik:RadButton ID="RadButton1" Text=" " Width="30px" Icon-PrimaryIconUrl="https://secure.prooportal.com/Style/img/icon/sys/16x16/plain/check.png" Icon-PrimaryIconLeft="5px" Icon-PrimaryIconTop="4px" EnableSplitButton="true" RenderMode="Classic" runat="server"></telerik:RadButton>

This code works fine in Q3, in Classic and Lightweight. In Q1 the Lightweight version the displaying of the icon is incorrect/weird.

Attached a example of the result rendering (image)

This problem applies to all major browsers (Chrome, IE11, FF, Safari)

Kind Regards,

Erik

We had to set button and calendar controls back to Classic as workaround. The other issue notice is in Classic, the icons positions we use have to be readjusted to to recent changes also.

Yes, I also see other problems with the radbutton too in Lightweight mode, not just with splitbutton, but also in normal buttons the icons are not placed as they where in Q3 14.

Hi Erik,

Does setting a width to the button resolve the issue with the icons position? If not could you please provide us with the markup of the button, so we can investigate the issue further?

Hello Danail Vasilev,

I'm not seeing any changes regarding the split button in the latest release?

I also notices that you put it under RadBardCode i.s.o. RadButton in the feedback:

 http://feedback.telerik.com/Project/108/Feedback/Details/153384

regarding your last question: I'm not a Telerik tester Danail. I pay for the product.

Hi Guys,

Considering the fact that we have many requests about implementations (improvements, fixes and new features) for more than 80 Telerik UI controls we let our clients decide which are the most desired ones by voting on the corresponding public feedback items. Since the mentioned feedback item for the split button has zero votes it gets a lower priority in the tasks queue. Nevertheless I have raised the priority of this item. I have also set the proper product type of it.

Regarding the alignment of the icons in RadButton in lightweight render mode I am still not reproducing it. You can find the button rendering and the corresponding markup I have used for the test below:

PrimaryIconCssClass Property and Classic mode - http://screencast.com/t/3l7ngnNShs

<telerik:RadButton ID="RadButton1" runat="server" Text="click" Icon-PrimaryIconCssClass="rbOk" RenderMode="Classic" />

PrimaryIconCssClass Property and Lightweight mode - http://screencast.com/t/otyO0nYol
<telerik:RadButton ID="RadButton1" runat="server" Text="click" Icon-PrimaryIconCssClass="rbOk" RenderMode="Lightweight" />

PrimaryIconUrl Property and Classic mode - http://screencast.com/t/90QEri26iXM

<telerik:RadButton ID="RadButton1" runat="server" Text="click" Icon-PrimaryIconUrl="eFlash.png" RenderMode="Classic" />

PrimaryIconUrl Property and Lightweight mode - http://screencast.com/t/YMICzMm5zom

<telerik:RadButton ID="RadButton1" runat="server" Text="click" Icon-PrimaryIconUrl="eFlash.png" RenderMode="Lightweight" />

The only difference comes with the embedded icons - font icons are used for the lightweight rendering. But this behavior is expected. More information is available here - http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/button-embedded-icons.html

Note that in order to help and find a reliable solution we must initially reproduce the issue locally. That is why I have asked to provide us with the problematic code, if possible.

Telerik,

I really don't care about the many requests you have. The split-button issue is not a feature, it is a BUG. A bug Telerik created. I can spend days after every update, to fix broken styling because of "improvements and new features". I have yet to find a stable version for over a year now. I called out to Telerik on various occasions, but with no result. You should test your own software, with your own people. I have provided you, for years now, with information about bugs. I understand bugs. But when I notify you there is a bug, you should correct it. Not wait until there are enough votes. This is ridiculous.

With regard to the icons, I am replacing hundreds of buttons now. And you want me to help you to? Sure.

Good luck to all,

Erik

Hi Erik,

Thank you for your honest and open feedback.

We do appreciate it! The Icon cannot be set in RadButton EnableSplitButton="true" for Lightweight render mode problem reported has been revised and its status was changed to critical.

We will do our best to solve it in one of the upcoming sprints (2-3 weeks from today). The fix will appear in Q2 2015 Beta and will not exist in the official release.

Please, excuse us for the temporary inconvenience.

Best Regards,
Rumen
