Hi Bryan,

Could you be more specific and describe in more details the features you're interested in. Internally  RadHtmlPlaceholder relies on an IFrame which does all the rendering.

From what I understand it is that Silverlight 5 now has a control that allows native HTML rendering in browser.

Hello Bryan,

The Silverlight WebBrowser control runs in:
  • out-of-browser applications
  • in-browser trusted applications
according to MSDN.

RadHtmlPlaceholder, on the other hand, can run even if the application does not have elevated permissions.

In an out-of-browser application RadHtmlPlaceholder internally uses the Silverlight WebBrowser control so you get all its features by default. It is in our 2012 plans to make RadHtmlPlaceholder use the Silverlight WebBrowser when it is placed in an in-browser trusted application. As for using the Silverlight WebBrowser in untrusted applications, there is not much we can do about it.
