Hello Telerik Reporting Community,

We have released a new version of Telerik Reporting today, 2024 Q1 (18.0.24.130). Please update your existing installation at your earliest convenience.

You can review the Legacy Installer Vulnerability - Telerik Reporting article to learn more details about why we are recommending customers to update.

To get the new version, take the following steps:

  1. Go to Downloads | Your Account.
  2. Select Telerik Reporting.
  3. Download the msi installer file, run it, and follow the steps to completion.

Notes

As the KB article explains, the issue pertained only to the old installer component, and not Telerik Reporting contained within the installation package. It does not affect any applications you’re using Telerik Reporting with.

If you have a rare situation where you cannot update the PC installed version, there are various ways to keep a project using an older version of reporting even though the PC has a newer version installed.

  • Copied Assemblies OptionCopy the older version’s DLLs to the project directory, then update the project references to use the copied assemblies (instead of the assemblies in C:/Program files (x86)/Progress/Telerik Reporting [older version]/)

We highly recommend you open a Technical Support Ticket if you have a complex situation and would like to ask questions before updating the PC’s installed version. You can open a Support Ticket here => https://prgress.co/DevToolsSupport.

While developing an endpoint (.NET 6 API) to export a PDF from a TRDX file ( no problems here ) I decided to publish to the test environment.

I keep getting this error :

Is this error related to the Trial version or is there anything else?

Greetings!

I'm trying to run the DatabaseCacheConfigurator.exe, select a PostgreSQL target backend, and create schema. I first ran into an issue where the Npgsql database provider was "not installed properly". I seem to have resolved that by installing what appears to be the last version of the Npgsql MSI (GAC) provider version 4.1.8.

This gets me past the not "installed properly" message, but now I receive the following:

Database driver installation problem: Cannot use factory for PostgreSql. Could not load type 'NpgsqlTypes.NpgsqlTimeZone' from assembly 'Npgsql, version=4.1.8.0.....

The full stack trace is in the attached screenshot.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks!
Bryan

Hi, I need to create a report that contains a list component. In this list I added some header information and then a table with binding data. After the table there are various textboxes. After these I have a panel which is basically my second page with static data. The first page may grow due to the table.
I need the textboxes after the table to always go to the bottom of the page. Is this possible?
I already tried with Report Book separating first part and panel with static part, but it can't alternate reports.
Maybe with PageFooter? In this case I don't know how to conditionally show it only after the first part and hide after panel with static page.

We are experimeting a very slow perfomance when render report to xlsx format from version 17.2.23.1114 using .Net 7, render to pdf is perfect.
With Telerik 15.2.21.915 version report was fast using .net 5

Test environment (.net 7 under linux container)
- api .net 7
- running in Linux Container. Pod Kubernetes
- nuget Telerik.Reporting (18.0.24.130)
- nuget Telerik.Reporting .OpenXmlRendering3 (18.0.24.130) with DocumentFormat.OpenXML 3.01 -DocumentFormat.OpenXml.Framework 3.0.1
- nuget Telerik.Reporting .WebServiceDataSource (18.0.24.130)
- nuget Telerik.Drawing.Skia (18.0.24.130)
- dockerfile includes next lines:
       RUN apt-get update
       RUN apt-get install -y libfreetype6
       RUN apt-get install -y libfontconfig1

We have this code to generate the report

 var reportSource = new InstanceReportSource { ReportDocument = _report };
 var reportProcessor = new ReportProcessor();
 var renderingResult = reportProcessor.RenderReport(format.ToString().ToUpper(), reportSource, null);
 var telerikReport = new DocumentResult(renderingResult);
 return telerikReport;

When we use format="XLSX" RenderReport is very low, when use PDF in the same report time is perfect.

In last versions of Telerik, 15.2.21.915, perfomance with XLSX was perfect the same API but in .net 5

What can we do?

Hi team support,

I was assigned to a project using telerik.reportviewer.webhtml Version=7.1.13.612. As of last week, someone reported a vulnerability bugs of bgColor parameter.

I've read some articles saying that it has to be upgraded to version 11.0.17.406 (2017 SP2) or later.
My question is, can I replace telerik.reportviewer.webhtml.dll file with the newest dll only?
And what about the dependencies? This is the current version of .NET & MS used.

Microsoft.AspNetCore.App 3.1.22 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.AspNetCore.App]
Microsoft.AspNetCore.App 5.0.14 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.AspNetCore.App]
Microsoft.NETCore.App 3.1.22 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App]
Microsoft.NETCore.App 5.0.14 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App]
Microsoft.NETCore.App 6.0.2 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.NETCore.App]
Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App 3.1.22 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App]
Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App 5.0.14 [C:\Program Files\dotnet\shared\Microsoft.WindowsDesktop.App]

I have no support from the vendor built because the project was really old.
I'd appreciate any help. Thankyou.

We have a lot of reports saved in the plain text .trdx files and in a lot of cases prefer to use this format. I've seen .trdx refereed to as the "legacy" format over .trdp but was wondering if it's safe to continue using .trdx for the foreseeable future.

Good Morning Telerik Forums,

I have a field called "Report Ran" followed by another table with a field of [= Now()] They display correctly. However, they are two separate fields.

If I add them together into one field (example) Report Ran: [=NOW()] it displays exactly like that. Never executing the data display.

How can I get it so that I can use a one field with text and a data all within one? so that it can display as Report Ran: 12/03/2023

Thank you!

EDIT: I solved this after posting. See solve below.

I solved my own question.. I just started playing with close brackets.

Use braces { } to encapsulate. In example: Report Ran: {=NOW()} and it will display correctly as Report Ran: 12/03/2023

Thank you!
