Hi,
I've been using a third party control now for some time which is throwing errors in my application.  To attempt to find the cause of these errors, I tried JustDecompile to find the source, which it appeared to have decompiled properly.

Having this code, I tried to build the project in Visual Studio to ensure I had the same operation however it fails with a number of errors and I am wondering whether the code has decompiled correctly.

Would you expect to be able to build and run a decompiled project or are there certain aspects which cannot be recovered for whatever reason?

Thanks

Hello Cos,

Thank you for your interest in JustDecompile. Generally the code JustDecompile produces is correct. However, in some corner cases we still have issues, which makes large projects practically not compilable (most of the problems are rather syntactical than semantical). We are working constantly in this area and we strive to improve our performance. It is our goal to be able to decompile an assembly into a compilable project, but we haven't reached that point just yet. We'll greatly appreciate any examples of badly decompiled code, as this will help us detect the fore mentioned corner cases faster.

Hello Yordan,

I can supply you with the original code and the decompiled code if this is of any use to you, however as it is not my own code and a third party, I would be reluctant to post it to a public area of this website.  If you have an email address I will gladly send through what I have.

Thank you for your reply.

Hi Cos,

Thank you for your quick response. You can send the assembly and the original code to Yordan . Dikov at telerik . com (spaces removed, at == @). Comparing between the original code and the code produced of JustDecompile is a luxury we rarely have. I am sure this will help us identify our weak spots faster. Thank you in advance for the commitment towards our tool.

All the best,
