Hi,

I am being using RadPDFViewer control in one of our Silverlight screen for loading PDF reports. While testing we observed that for large pdf files of size approx. 15mb or above (Total pages 10k+), the find dialog fails to search the specified text search after 3-4 attempts. In our case for the Report of total pages 18000, the search option navigated fine for the first 3 searched locations and then failed to proceed further. I even tried to test the same behavior on your demo site
(http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/#PdfViewer/FirstLook) with the same report and observed that there too the find dialog failed to perform search after 3 navigations.

Could you please take a look into the issue and suggest further. We have been using the RadControls for Silverlight Q3 2013 version.

Hello Gaurav,

We are not aware of the described problem with the search dialog. I have also tried to reproduce the issue with file nearly 30MB containing around 18k pages, but with no success.
In order to investigate further the problem, we will need the problematic file. Could you please open new supper ticket and attach the document in question, as the forum thread will not allow different attachments then images. Exact steps to reproduce the issue are welcomed as well.

Hi Mihail,

I created a test pdf file with 60k pages and loaded the same on your demo site. File loaded successfully. I then applied a search which worked fine for initial loops. Then I changed the search text and applied a value not available in the pdf. This time the search failed and thrown the message as "Telerik.com not responding".

Please share the link from where I could raise a support ticket and enclose the Sample report for review.

Hi Gaurav,

We tested the document you sent us in the support thread and were able to reproduce the described behavior. I logged a request in our portal to improve the search functionality and you could track its progress by subscribing to the related public item.

I am afraid that I'm unable to suggest you an approach to this behavior.
