Hey everyone 👋

Every Wednesday I run a stream on Twitch called React Wednesdays. For each stream I invite someone interesting from the React world and have them teach me something new.

You can watch previous episodes to get an idea, but the real fun of React Wednesdays is being there live, as you get to hang out with the best and brightest in the React world—and ask questions too 🙂

With that in mind, check out our upcoming episodes below.

NOTE: You can subscribe to the React Wednesdays Google calendar for notifications of upcoming episodes.

  • 📆 Wednesday, February 3rd
  • ⏰ 1:00 PM US Eastern time
  • 🔗 Add to calendar

Feature flags are one of those development concepts that seem simple, but can get complex really fast in real-world apps. So much so, that there are entire services devoted to help you manage these flags.

On this episode of React Wednesdays, we’re welcoming the folks from Flagsmith to come hang out and demo their service live. This will be a good one to check out if you use feature flags in your production apps.

Will Using React for Your Enterprise App Get You Fired?

  • 📆 Wednesday, February 10th
  • ⏰ 1:00 PM US Eastern time
  • 🔗 Add to calendar

This week we’re welcoming Dragomir Răzvan (@razvandragomir), author of the recently viral article “I Almost Got Fired for Choosing React in Our Enterprise App.”

We’ll use Dragomir’s article as a guide for chatting about React in the enterprise in general. Like, when is React a good fit and when is it not? What are some good practices to make React work better on large teams? And what recommendations does Dragomir have for developers starting new enterprise projects today?

Working in Large React Apps With Paige Niedringhaus

  • 📆 Wednesday, February 17th
  • ⏰ 1:00 PM US Eastern time
  • 🔗 Add to calendar

Working in large React apps brings up new and fun concerns. Like, how do you organize your files so your team can find things? How do you agree on which dependencies to use? And how do you ensure that tabs-versus-spaces arguments don’t ruin friendships?

Luckily, on this episode we’re welcoming Paige Niedringhaus (@pniedri), who has a ton of experience working in large React apps and teams at The Home Depot. Paige will share some tips & tricks she’s learned over the years, and demo some of her tips live.

This is a great one to check out if you work on a large React team. And bring questions!

What’s New in React Query 3 With Tanner Linsley

  • 📆 Wednesday, February 24th
  • ⏰ 1:00 PM US Eastern time
  • 🔗 Add to calendar

Over the past year, React Query has grown to become one of the most popular state management tools in the React world.

And good news! On this episode we’re being joined by the creator of React Query, Tanner Linsley (@tannerlinsley). Tanner will demo React Query, and then we’ll chat about what’s new in the latest version, React Query v3.

This is a good one to check out if you want to learn about React Query, or if you have any questions and want to hang out. It should be a fun time 🙂
