SP1 of Telerik Reporting Q1 2011 Available; Brings Improved Performance in Silverlight and WPF

Yesterday we dropped a new minor version of Telerik Reporting Q1 2011. Among the plentiful fixes, you will find some important improvements, aided to improve the overall operation of the product, both in design time and run time. Performance Improvements in Rendering Silverlight and WPF Reports The XAML rendering extension now uses a new lightweight mechanism that overcomes issues related to highly concurrent multi-threading applications. Using the Resize and Drag extender built into the ASP.NET AJAX controls

The development for both desktop and mobile browsers has always been a difficult task, often an impossible one. To ease the process, we have prepared a couple of extenders, thus delivering to the developers unified methods to implement solutions for the mobile web platforms. In addition to the previously introduced TouchScrollExtender in Q3 2010, we present to you another member of the family. Exporting Telerik Reports to PowerPoint Presentation (Q1 2011)

Simply focus the FileExplorer, navigate to the grid or treeview using the [Shift+]Tab key, select the desired folder with the Arrow keys and press Delete. A popup dialog asks you to confirm the deletion. Hit Enter to delete, or Esc to cancel.       This was just an example of a common scenario, that could be carried out using the keyboard only. We have ensured that any use case...

Quering Spatial Data with OpenAccess in Q1 2011

Starting with the 2011 Q1 release, OpenAccess supports development of applications that involve geometric or geographic data. For the sake of simplicity, this blog will focus on the use of SqlGeography with MSSQL 2008. Other databases (like Oracle) provide support for geometric and geographic data as well, but this shall be the topic of another blog post. Let's start with a simple model that has only two domain classes City and Country. Both classes should contain geographic information: the location of the City (as a point) and the polygon shape of the Country. Both domain classes then...
