QUESTION

What content can be displayed by RadRotator?

ANSWER

Radrotator offers the possibility to display any type of content - flash, images, text, etc. You should keep in mind, however, that it is just a dhtml/javascript rotator component and its performance strongly depends on the browser's technology. Therefore we suggest using images in GIF/JPG format that do not exceed 100kb in size. Also, working with images larger than 300x300 pixels may result in a performance drop on older computers.

Another performance factor is the ASP.NET controls which you include in the frame template. Heavy controls seriously impact the rotator's performance.

Last, but not least, you should be aware of the amount of data you databind. For example: if you have a rotator with 100 frames, the content that is in the template (a single frame) gets replicated a 100 times.
