You can also use very short ID for the menu - all MenuGroups and MenuItems have IDs that are formed based on the menu's ID - if it is too long all IDs will be too long. Hence the extra markup. You may try: <radm:RadMenu ID="m" ... /> Note: MenuItem's id (v2.x) was changed to ID (in v3.x). For v4 of RadMenu (due in June/July 2006), we plan to optimize the menu's output by completely rewriting the client-side rendering engine. We will base it on the current Highly Efficient Semantic Rendering of RadTabStrip. With this patent-pending technology, we were able to reduce the tabstrip's HTML by nearly 70%. We expect to have much better performance figure for RadMenu, being the heaviest Telerik control at this time.
