HOW-TO
Install local documentation for MS Help viewer (Help3) in Visual Studio 2010
DESCRIPTION
Starting from Q2 2012, RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX Help3 local documentation is distributed as a separate installation to reduce the size of the builds. The zipped Help3 installation can be downloaded from the
Documentation and Tutorials page and installed using the instructions below:
SOLUTION
How to install Help 3 on our machine:
- Unblock the downloaded file. This is done by right-clicking the file -> properties -> clicking on the Unblock button in the General tab. If this button is not present this step is not needed
- Unzip the Help3 (RadControls_For_ASPNET_AJAX_Help3_2012_x_xx_xx.zip) content downloaded from Telerik
- Launch HelpLibManager utility
- [Optional] If not initialized set Help3 local content location
- Select ‘Install content from disk’ option. In case that you have already installed another Help3 documentation of RadControls for ASP.NET AJAX, you should remove the old one before installing the new one trough the 'Remove content' option.
- Browse to the .msha file

- Select it, click Open and Next
- Click ‘Add’ action
- Click ‘Update’ button

- When asked to proceed click ‘Yes’. Note that it could take some time to finish the installation.

- Finish the installation
- Launch the local help viewer
- If not initialized choose to view local help content
- Enjoy
