    Requirements

    RadControls version 2009.1.311+
    .NET version 2.0 / 3.x
    Visual Studio version 2005 / 2008
    programming language C#
    browser support

    all browsers supported by RadControls

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION (Updated!)
The attached project demonstrates how to localize RadGrid, RadCalendar and RadInput using resource files. Please notice that due to the complexity of RadGrid we can't cover all possible scenarios in a single example. Therefore we encourage you to contact us if you have any questions related to the localization.

    Hi,
thank you for providing. But I can not read the signs.
To that extent I would be grateful for a language with Latin characters .

Thanks for the help in advance.

    Hello Christian,

We updated the code-library and included a dropdown that can be used to change the active language. Furthermore, we added a setting to localize the edit column's button text via explicit resources.

    Kind regards,
    the Telerik team

    Hi,

very nice Idea - but this code should be in the sources of the controls :)
In 90% of my projects I have to localize all of my controls to german.

At the current one this will be about 80-100 pages - most of the with grids on it.
There is no reason for me to switch between english and german or so.
The only thing is that I have to localize all of these grids to german.
Except some "beasty" elements (Page size: - close tooltip in popup edit form and a few others) this can be done via markup (aspx).
So I end up in copy and paste operations.

To be perfect of course I would have to handle some "creation events" in code behind.

The difference - I also use RadEditor - there I do more or less nothing than placing a control on the page and make a language setting.
After copying the "global resource files" I'm done.

And that's what I hope to see sometimes for (at least) the RadGrid also.

At the current state (except for one project where I have to change languages) adding resources would be more work than copying the markup to the pages.

BUT - your project is a proof of concept - it shows that the effort to "resourceify" those controls is not that big.
I hope your development team takes a copy of this code - and integrates it in to the control builds :)

    Kind regards

    Manfred

    Hello ManniAT,

Thank you for sharing your opinion with us.

We would like to assure you that this task is already added in our product backlog. However we are not able to commit to an exact estimate for the feature implementation at this point.

    Regards,
