RadControls version RadControls for WinForms Q2 2011+
    .NET version .NET2.0+
    Visual Studio version VS2008+
    Programming language C# and VB

    PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Application Portfolio demonstrates the full capabilities of RadCarousel for WinForms in a very innovative and interactive way. It simulates a portfolio of WinForms applications, each represented by an animated item in RadCarousel, which rotates on a predefined pseudo-3D trajectory.

This project was first showcased on TechEd 2008 by the Telerik crew, and is now available for general download. It uses the Trial versions of Telerik RadControls for WinForms.

The applications used in RadCarousel are independent of each other and can be started with a single click. These are:

    Hi eman,

If you are using the virtualization feature of RadCarousel (VirtualMode=true - the default) there should not be any issues loading even thousands of items. On the other hand, loading a lot of hi-quality images can be a bit time consuming. If that is your case, I may suggest you to take a look at the following Code Library project and the approach we used for loading a great number of images to RadCarousel, without any performance loss:

    Hi eman,

Could you give us more information on your machine (CPU, RAM, OS version) and the types of images you are trying (size, resolution)? I do not have enough information about your case, so I cannot say what is the problem. Also, what do you mean by "very slow"? What is slow - rotation or image resizing? Haw fast do you expect it to be? The carousel itself has a preset rotation time, which may seem slow to you.

I tested the current sample with 8MP JPG pictures and the loading performance is very decent. In general, however, smaller-sized images would load much faster.

    Hello eman,

Thank you for your interest in our product.

The Trial Version of RadControls for WinForms contains all the available controls in our suite including RadForm. The only difference between the Trial and the Dev versions is that the Trial version regularly pops up a message box both in design- and in runtime of your application. You can use the Trial version for an unlimited amount of time and will receive support for 60 days after you download the package.

Do not hesitate to write back if you have further questions, suggestions or feedback on our products.

    Best wishes,

    Hi eman,

Yes, it is, but since RadForm is not a standard Windows Forms Control, it is not placed on the ToolBox as the other RadControls are. You can add a RadForm to your project by right-clicking on your project in the Solution Explorer and selecting "Add New Item" in the context menu. Select "Visual C# Items" in the tree on the left of the dialog that appears and find the RadForm template on the right of the window. You can now specify a name for the form and add it to your project.

    Hi eman,

The RadForm template is available in Microsoft Visual Studio 2005. In Visual Studio 2008, however, you will have to add the template manually. Please refer to the following Knowledge Base article for more information: Installing Telerik templates in Visual Studio 2008

You can also use RadForm without the help of a template. To do so, refer to the following help topic:
RadForm for WinForms - Getting Started.

I hope this helps. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have further questions.

    Hi Syed,

    Thanks for the feedback.

I am not quite sure that I correctly understand the case you describe.

Are you maximizing the Application Portfolio's main form or the form of one of the demos inside the portfolio? Could you please clarify which version of Microsoft Windows are you using to run the application? Which menu are you referring to?

I will be grateful if you could provide me with more details about the case so that I can thoroughly inspect it.

I am looking forward to your answer.

    All the best,

Sir I just wanted to know whether Theme property can be set for the RadCarousel elements. I am trying to do it but without any success. It would be of great help if this is possible.
    Thanking You,
    Arka Mitra.

    P.S.
I just found out that if the Theme property of the RadCarousel is set then allthe elements themes are also hanged. But my problem is that only two themes are visible:Desert, Control default. I have added the rest of te themes in the form but they are not being displayed when I am setting the Theme for the RadCarousel. Please help.

    Hello arka mitra,

RadCarousel does not have any other themes than the ones you mentioned, mostly because it does not need it. In case you need to skin the PREV/NEXT buttons, simply replace them with your own.
