Roadmap for Q2 2013

BarCodeReader

• Support for QR codes
  RadBarCodeReader will be able to decode QR codes
• Support for PDF417
  RadBarCodeReader will be able to decode PDF417 codes
• Support for images, containing 1D code and text
  RadBarCodeReader will be able to decode images which contain not only 1D code, but also some text.

ChartView

• Introduce point series type
  A new categorical series which displays a point per category
• Marked zone annotations
  This will allow you to mark an arbitrary rectangular area within the chart area.
• Custom line annotations
  This will allow you to place an arbitrary line within the chart area.
• Scroll-to-zoom
  Allow the users to use the mouse scroll to zoom in and out
• Drag-to-pan
  Allow the users to click-and-hold and then drag the chart area in order to pan.

DateTimePicker

• Keyboard navigation improvement
  In the Clock area, the user should be able to navigate using the keyboard in to all directions, not only left and right.
  The user should be able to navigate using the keyboard between Clock and Calendar area.
  The user should be able to select time by pressing the "Enter" key.

Diagrams

• Collapsible containers
  Implement logic to collapse ContainerShape(s) and its content. This will allow our customers to create much wider range of diagrams - Workflow for example.

Docking

• Enable inheritance of DataContext in unpinned and floating Panes
  Currently the DataContext of the Panes is lost when they are repositioned in the Docking control.
• Closing a RadPane in the DocumentHost should focus the last selected pane instead of the first one
  Currently when multiple tabs are open in the DocumentHost, if one is closed, the next active tab is always the first on the left. This behavior will be changed, so it will be the same as in Visual Studio.
• Enable a way to exclude elements from the save/load layout process of the Docking control
  Allow the user not to save all the panes in the Docking but only some of them.
• Add a public property that marks which elements the RadDocking should treat as autogenerated
  This feature will allow automatically cleaning the SplitContainers and PaneGroups when they are empty in the saved  layout. 

GanttView

• Export to image formats (Printing support)
  Allow to export either the whole GanttView or parts/rectangles of it to printable images.

Heatmap

• Selection
  Allow the end user to select a cell and provide visual indication.

Map

• New visualization layer with integrated support for virtualization and clustering
  This layer will feature improved UI virtualization and pan and zoom performance. Items clustering will be easy to configure and integrated within the layer.
• Support for async loading of shape files
  Keep the UI responsive while reading large shape files.

Menu/ContextMenu

• New MenuItem Types
  New inheritors of RadMenuItem like RadRootMenuItems will be added. This will give you the ability to create complex menus with large/small icons and different custmoizations.
• ScrollViewer in MenuItem and ContextMenu
  When you need to visualize a lot of items in your menu, you will get a ScrollViewer to explore all of them. With current release you should modify several templates to achieve this, but in the future you will receive this functionality integrated in RadMenuItem/RadContextMenu.

PDFViewer

• Improve support for image formats
  This includes better support for all scanned documents(tiff) and jpeg images.
• Add support for pattern and gradient brushes
  This will allow RadPdfVIewer to render wider range of documents that use more sophisticated brushes and images.

PivotGrid

• Export
  We will add the possibility to export the cells’ data from RadPivotGrid to: MS Excel, MS Word, pdf and HTML.
• Selection
  You will be able to select cells from RadPivotGrid and use them in different operations. To make your operations we will introduce SelectedCells property.
• OLAP support improvements
  You will be able to apply filters to your group descriptions directly: Label filters will help you to filter the data by name and Value filters – by the value in the cells.
• Localization Improvements
  A full localization of the UI will be added to RadPivotGrid. All UI Dialogs will be available for localization.
• Persistence
  We will add the ability to serialize/deserialize the state of RadPivotGrid and this way you can create a report and the next time you start the app, you will see the same RadPivotGrid.

RichTextBox

• Add support for aligning and indenting of tables inside the document.
• Improve support for Asian (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) languages
  This includes various improvements of how text containing CJK symbols is visualized in the RadRichtextBox.
• Asian typography preferences for the document
  This includes settings for characters which should not be positioned at the end or at the beginning of a line.
• Table styles gallery
  Table styles gallery in the Ribbon UI for creating and applying table styles, similar to the paragraph/character styles gallery.
• Import/export code blocks
  Add support for import/export code block (specified with <code/> tag) to Html

Spreadsheet

• Conditional Formatting
  Applying different visual settings to cells based on the data they contain allows you to identify variances in a range of values with a quick glance. The feature is very useful for comparing values, selecting rows dynamically and spotting duplicates easily.
• Named cells and ranges
  The feature allows you to give a cell or a range of cells a descriptive name. Named cells and ranges can be later used in formulas throughout the workbook.
• Calculation Options
  The feature offers the user two calculation modes – Automatic and Manual. The former option recalculates formulas in the worksheet whenever a cell they depend upon has changed its value. Conversely, the latter mode defers recalculation of formulas until the user explicitly triggers recalculation. This option is particularly useful for processing large sets of data.
• Built-in Functions
  Providing numerous predefined functions that facilitate users from various professional areas is a must for RadSpreadsheet.
• Sorting
  The ability to sort data is essential part of data analysis. The feature allows you to visualize your data and organize it in a more effective way.
• Filtering
  Filtering data lets you display only cells that meet criteria you specify and hide the rest of the cells. Filtering is especially useful for querying large volumes of data.
• Find and Replace
  The feature allows you to search the worksheet for specific strings of symbols and optionally replace them with other text or value.

TimeBar

• Support for custom intervals
  This will allow you to define your own interval to use within the control
• Support for special slots
  Allow marking of specific periods with different style e.g. weekends
