Telerik’s Storage implementation provides users with local database support backed with the fast and server-less engine of SQLite. It allows Windows Phone 8 applications to persist data locally. With Telerik’s storage solution you can take advantage of relational databases (not BLOB files only) for processing data in their Windows Phone 8 apps, which widens the scope of the application types you can develop.
The Data Storage engine exposes LINQ to SQLite extensions. Bundled with the vividness of entity classes you can create relational databases with tables that map plain old CLR object (POCO) entities. It is up to the users to choose the way of usage that is most suitable for the particular scenario and their skills. If the developer likes the expressiveness of LINQ standard or query syntax it can prefer them instead of raw SQL queries. Still, the engine supports pure SQL syntax-based queries which can be used in case this is the preferred approach.
Telerik Data Storage for Windows Phone 8 facilitates the communication with the SQL database, which can be a serious overhead for a non C++ developer, who is not familiar with the native Windows Phone 8 development paradigms.
Storing login credentials, user details or any other app-related data to the local SQLite storage is much easier and comes without sacrificing the memory of the device.
Your application can store data while it is offline without you having to create your own storage engine and data serialization architecture.
