• Which Visual Studio versions does JustTrace support?

  JustTrace is compatible with Visual Studio 2010 SP1, as well as Visual Studio 2012.

• Where can I explore the JustTrace features?

  We provide 30-day-fully-functional trials that come with complimentary access to our Support team. If you would like to take a look at the list of features JustTrace is famous for, please visit our Features page. It will give you more information about its profiling, memory and performance visualization capabilities.

• What is a two-in-one profiler?

  JustTrace’s two-in-one profiler includes both a performance and memory profiler. With this you get great value – the two profilers in JustTrace cost less than one profiler from other suppliers.  In addition, you learn one UI, work-flow and analysis framework. All performance and memory issues can be handled with one easy-to-learn product. 

• What online resources can I take advantage of to learn a bit more about JustTrace?

  We have a rich online database of resources that you can utilize both during your trial and when you have a full license for our JustTrace. We suggest you start by exploring our video library, go through our online documentation and vast array of forum posts from our active user base to finish off with our Just blog.

• Can JustTrace be used as a stand-alone tool?

  Yes. JustTrace integrates seamlessly with Visual Studio or can also be used as a stand-alone tool.

• Does JustTrace support remote profiling?

  The current JustTrace version does not support remote profiling though we plan to add this feature in a future release.

• Will JustTrace support SQL tracing?

  Right now this feature is not on our task list. But we take our customer feedback very seriously, so you can let us know how important this feature is for you by voting for it here. Don’t forget to tell your friends!

• Can you show a website on IIS debug?

  We have created a PITS item for creating a list of all web applications deployed to the local IIS server. Vote for it here.

• Is there a Network Usage metric that can be added to a trace profile?

  We are planning to add customizable performance counters in the next version of JustTrace. You will then be able to add a graph for any counter you find useful.

• With JustTrace, is it possible to see the SQL generated by Entity Framework?

  Not at this time, but we are considering implementing this feature. You can speed up its adoption by voting for it here.

• What are the advantages of JustTrace over the default profiler available from Visual Studio? Is that an add-on to it or an individual profiler?

  JustTrace has both a Visual Studio add-in and a standalone application. They use the same engine and are independent of the Visual Studio profiler, which is only available in the Ultimate edition of VS. The JustTrace add-in is available for all editions of Visual Studio except Express. We strive to give you a better picture of your program than the built-in VS profiler with features such as leak suspects and good filtering options. Our profiler is aimed at enabling the regular developer, not just profiling experts, to find performance bottlenecks and memory issues such as leaks and excessive allocations.

• Where can I find more information about .NET performance profiling?

• How do I get started with memory profiling in JustTrace?

  JustTrace is different from other memory profilers, because it helps you resolve memory leaks and optimize memory usage and at the same it unobtrusively handles performance profiling issues. To learn more, just regularly check our informational page on the topic of memory profiling. 

• Does JustTrace support IIS Express and IIS 8?

  Yes, JustTrace supports IIS 5, IIS 6, IIS7, IIS8 and IIS Express.

• Does JustTrace profile Windows Store apps (formerly known as Metro Style apps)?

  Yes, JustTrace now supports Windows Store apps.
